Dialogue: Stress in the City - Reclaiming Calm in Urban Chaos

Dear KL, we need to talk. About space. About silence. About why our minds feel cluttered even when we’re standing still. This session dives into what it means to feel calm, connected, and truly at home in our cities — and what we can change to reclaim mental peace.

TIME AND LOCATION

19 Apr 2025, 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Kuala Lumpur, 29, Jalan Riong, Bangsar, 59100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

ABOUT THE EVENT

We’re not just burnt out from work — we’re burnt out from the cities we live in. This dialogue explores the emotional impact of urban life, from overstimulation to the quiet crisis of not feeling like we belong.

Psychologist Dr Eugene Tee (HELP University), public space planner Elisa Hanim (Think City), and urban design advocate Nur Safuraa (PAM Next) bring their perspectives together to ask: what makes a city feel like a sanctuary — not just a space? This conversation isn’t about escaping the city, but healing it — from inside out.
